San Vito Lo Capo and surroundings

Set on the beautiful beach that made it famous throughout the world, San Vito Lo Capo, with its mild climate even in winter, is one of the most popular destinations in western Sicily and is just a few kilometers from the famous Zingaro Nature Reserve. The Mediterranean atmosphere you breathe, the wealth of natural beauty and the numerous cultural opportunities in the surroundings make San Vito Lo Capo the ideal destination for a beach holiday with the whole family. The heart of the village is Piazza Santuario which overlooks the via Savoia, full of shops and clubs, very popular especially in the evening, a favorite meeting place for shopping and relaxation. In the square there are concerts and shows and street performers also perform during the long and warm summer evenings, while in the beach clubs the young people meet at sunset for nice Happy Hour. The Sanctuary, whose history has its roots in the legend of San Vito Martire, certainly worth a visit. Inside there is the statue of the patron saint of the town, a beautiful altar and a small but interesting museum of sacred furnishings. A very characteristic corner of San Vito Lo Capo is via Venza, a tiny street that is just a few steps from the Sanctuary and that in the summer it becomes a cultural living room where one of the most popular events is held by holidaymakers "Books authors and bougainvillea". The long summer is marked by a series of evening meetings with writers and journalists who tell their latest works in an absolutely relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
