The Casalpina "Don Barra" is a welcoming structure strongly desired by Giovanni Barra, a priest writer from Pinerolo, to initially host groups of about thirty young people. Built in the summer of 1946, in a short time the House began to welcome groups from all over Italy and for obvious needs, the first enlargement works were started. In the following years the tourist demand grew steadily and in 1951 it was decided to undertake a radical restructuring: the structure was raised by one floor and a new dining room was created. In 1959 the inauguration of the church "Madonna delle Nevi", not far from Casalpina, allowed to further increase the request for accommodation by groups, giving the opportunity to offer a space dedicated to moments of meditation and prayer. In 1969 Casalpina built a second building with 38 rooms in total; after minor modifications, in 2006, thanks to a work of total renewal, Casalpina "Don Barra" made a leap in quality, becoming a 3-star hotel with 39 rooms, of which 3 are reserved for disabled people.
